5th round, DeQuan Menzie, CB/S from Alabama
28 April 2012 - 12:40 PM
He played CB at 'Bama (took over for Arenas), but projects as a S in the NFL due to his speed. ESPN just did a little blurb on him, seems like a very positive report other than the speed. Maybe another Flowers in the making, but on the inside.
if a mod could edit the title to say "CB/S" instead of CD please?
Ed Werder: Cowboys Have Discussed #11 Pick With Chiefs
25 April 2012 - 04:23 PM
Since we don't have an official draft thread yet (I think) I'm just giving this its own thread. Werder just said the Cowboys have made a move with their first rounder 75% of the time - either up or down - and he expects them to move this year. He specifically cited the Chiefs as a team they contacted.
Just me theorizing, but I assume this is to make a play of Barron. I'd be down for this.

Suppose the Colts Take RGIII?
26 March 2012 - 11:18 AM
If the Colts go against popular opinion and decide that RG3 is the guy to pick, any chance that Luck refuses to play for the Redskins? I know setting up a stupid false hope thread like this will probably annoy some, but considering this bit from PFT.com about the Colts not giving confirmation to Luck yet, it does make you wonder.
Under the old system I might think it was a negotiating tactic, but with slotted rookie salaries the Colts don't have much to gain. They could work out a contract and actually have him signed before the draft so maybe there is a desire to investigate RG3. Just playing devil's advocate and assuming Luck refuses the 'Skins (a la Eli Manning) you have to figure the asking price to get back to #2 drops below whatever Washington originally paid. Sort of like how a car drops in value the second you drive it off the lot.
Who's left from the original competition? Washington obviously is out as the incumbent, Seattle has inked Matt Flynn, but the contract is not so wild that they would 100% take themselves out. Phins and Browns are still QB hungry but who knows if they feel the same about Luck as they did RG3 (pretty safe bet they do, if not more enamored). Of course the kicker is that if Luck is telling the Skins "no" he could just as easily refuse the Browns and/or Miami which limits Washington's trade options. He could do the same to KC as well, but then there aren't a whole lot of teams who would come calling after all those.
So do you think there is a chance this could happen at the top of the draft, and if so what do you peg the Chiefs chances at? Would we even try? How much would it cost as a third hand pick?
Remember, Washington paid 3 firsts (2012, 2013, 2014) and a second round pick this year, so that's where the bar starts and you assume it goes down from there right off the bat.

welp, RG3 is a Redskin now. That pretty much puts all our eggs in the Manning basket.

While waiting for the elevator to leave the VIP suites at Lucas Oil Stadium, Gisele said, "My husband can not f****ing throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times."
