Jets, Jaguars interested in trading for Tebow

21 March 2012 - 07:50 AM

The Jaguars and Jets, along with several other teams, have serious interest in trading for Broncos QB Tim Tebow, a league source told NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi on Tuesday.

Lombardi reported earlier in the day that five teams had contacted the Broncos about a possible Tebow trade.

Moments after the news broke Monday that Peyton Manning would be joining the Broncos, a source told NFL Network’s Albert Breer that the team had begun to explore Tebow deals and was looking for a trading partner.

The Broncos are expected to be agreeable toward what teams are willing to give in any potential Tebow trade, according to Lombardi. Denver used a first-round pick (25th overall) to take Tebow in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Miami Dolphins star has borderline personality disorder

02 August 2011 - 03:27 PM

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall is known as much for his headline-grabbing troubles off the field as he is for his standout play on it.

If he has his way, he's about to be famous for something else entirely.

In a news conference on Sunday, Marshall told reporters that he suffers from borderline personality disorder, or BPD, a mental illness marked by intense anger, impulsivity, and turbulent interpersonal relationships.

The 27-year-old wide receiver -- who received his diagnosis this spring, after seeking treatment at McLean Hospital, in Belmont, Massachusetts -- told reporters he wants to be the "face" of BPD.

"My purpose moving forward is to raise awareness of this disorder -- how it not only affects the patient but the families and the people in the community," he said.

Man Finds Suspicious White Powder in Florida Keys, Decides to Snort It, and Dies

02 August 2011 - 07:30 AM

On the list of things not to do when you discover a mysterious package full of white power, snorting the substance is probably near the top of the list.

Unfortunately for 53-year-old Thomas Swindal, he did not heed that advice and died last week after he thought he'd just found a floating kilo of blow, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Swindal was fishing with his brother off the shore of Marathon when they found a brick floating in the water they believed to be a package of cocaine, police say.

Swindal's brother told police that Thomas Swindal decided to put the brick on their boat and, when he looked back at his brother a bit later, noticed he had the package open and was snorting it up.

Around 90 minutes later, Swindal began to run around the boat, throwing his cell phone and radio into the water, and then began mangling the engine with random tools to the point that it wouldn't start, according to the cops.

Swindal's brother then threw all the sharp things and the mystery package of powder off the boat before signaling state Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers to rescue them.

Swindal was taken to a Miami hospital and died the next day, police say.

The cops say they believe the package could have possibly been cocaine, but they're waiting for autopsy results to come back to find out.

Meanwhile, the sheriff's office ask that you not salvage bricks of powder from the ocean, and it's probably not a good idea to snort it either.
