I don't see any way that the Mavs get LeBron or Wade. Bosh is the same position as Dirk, I don't see that being a good fit. They might have a shot at Joe Johnson.

Jet frustrated me as well this year, but I think he just needs a reduced role. I feel he still has a place on the team, just not as a sixth man. I think Dallas has a legit shot at getting anyone in FA this year, why not?
They have serious sign and trade assests and with Cubes as owner the Mavs will always be a place good players will look at. All of that paired with the nice tax thing and you have some good selling points.
The Mavs could pitch to any superstar that the Mavs are just a piece away and if they came to Dallas they would be the final piece to a championship puzzle.
Going to Chicago and living in 45's shadow might not be that appealing, heading to NY or NJ would be a huge downgrade in talent and going to Miami poses the problem of who is the alpha dog, something you wouldn't have a problem with in Dallas because Dirk isn't that type of player.
All in all I think Dallas could provide an exellent spot for any of the above superstars including James and Wade.

It's possible, but I don't think the Mavs can pull it off.

Not only that, once the other team releases Damp we can re-sign him for a low salary.
I know it sounds to good to be true, but Cubes and Nelson wouldn't of worked things like this into peoples contracts if they didn't want the option of doing something with it, and since Damp's contract really does turn to dust once he is traded that is a huge asset to have.
I am not saying the Mavs will land a top tier FA. I am only saying that we could easily land one with the assets we have.
There is a website, www.dallasbasketball.com that does a great job detailing a lot of how Dallas could make this happen.
