Dontari Poe is the lone unsigned Chiefs pick

The Chiefs have signed all of their draft picks except for first-round defensive tackle Dontari Poe.

The team announced Thursday that they have signed third-round tackle Donald Stephenson. Stephenson signed a four-year contract with Kansas City.

At the Chiefs’ rookie minicamp, Stephenson worked at left tackle. He played the same position at Oklahoma, but will probably see some time on the other side as well. The Chiefs will start Branden Albert on the left side and Eric Winston on the right, but Stephenson could become the swing backup behind them as a rookie.

“Whenever they call on me, whenever they need me, I’ll be happy to help,” Stephenson said in the team’s statement announcing the signing.

Albert is heading into the final year of his contract, but there have been reports of contract talks between the two sides. That would work out well as Stephenson has the size for the position but probably needs a little more seasoning before he’d be ready to fill it.

A number of first round picks have signed contracts already, including Luke Kuechly, #8 overall, so Poe should be getting his done soon.

I hope this gets done soon! I thought that the new rookies salaries scale was going to stop the contract nonsense!

Well this is still better then what I can rememebr ever seeing. I mean all but one done and its not even June? This is great no complaints.

Poe needs to be signed so that he can become the NT for our future

Poe needs to sign because he needs to thank his lucky f*ckin stars that we even drafted him so high. If it wasn't for the blind faith of Romeo and Pioli, Poe would be getting #23 pick money.

Maybe he started believing all the hype that the media was creating after the combine! The Chiefs could easily address this by just giving him a "combine" bonus! lol

I have no doubt this will get done soon. I am hoping that it is only taking a little longer cause they are trying to work out a deal with Bowe and or resigning Albert now.
