I may be missing the point you are trying to make Jonas but if the Pats and Steelers were favored in the rules then why would coaches leave the teams? The Pats have lost a number of OC's over the years and the Steelers lost both DC and OC. The Steelers have even changed Head Coaches. I think these teams are always there cause they draft well and quite possibly get lucky at times.

The Steelers are good because they draft exceptionally well and have for 35+ years. Consequently, they have depth everywhere, and can still win games when their QB is out. The Pats look good presently because Tom Brady is just ungodly good. Stick someone other than a top 10 QB in there and that team would look like Swiss cheese. Belichick's drafts have been anything but exceptional.

Jonas is correct insofar as this: rule changes in the past decade have undoubtedly favored QBs. That still has nothing to do with parity though, because any team can draft one.

No. They're contenders year in and year out because they have Ben Roethlisberger and Tom Brady.

People are always going to try and advance their careers and you actually aid me in making my point. DC's and OC's often leave Pittsburgh and New England to fail. Somehow they cannot duplicate the success of either franchise. They can't take the QB's with them.

'Team building' is a thing of the past. Just get a QB and everything will fall into place. Defense and coaching don't really seem to mean much in Roger Goddell's NFL..

As for anybody who would think a coach with five SB rings in seven SB appearances should be canned, that's just f**king retarded.

That's why I posted the comment. It's not like I have a ton of Pats fans as friends to gather overall sentiment, but I actually respect this guys opinion. But hey, everything has to come to an end sometime. I'm sure he's just pissed. As a Chiefs fan, I don't know what it's like to have your team get all the way there and not come through.

I'm starting to believe a team should use one of their first 3 draft picks on a QB every year - regardless of their current QB situation. If you can draft and develop a star, it's all worth it. Not to mention that those QB picks will hold their trade value almost indefinitely. Kolb, Cassel, Flynn - all it takes is a few good games and you've got massive trade value for desperate teams.
