I'm rooting for the Giants because hopefully it will stick a fork in "The Patriot Way" once and for all. You refer to the Giants model, and I agree, it is pretty damn smart! Let them run wild on old Tom and Bill and hope that Scott takes it to heart. Maybe he will come to realize that serendipitously landing (did not want to use the phrase "luck"-ing into) a franchise QB in the later rounds is like catching lighting in a bottle and will make the concerted effort to get a premier QB via draft like the rest of the world.

Giants won last time( and i wanted them to), rooting for the Pats this time.

Question...

Should I smoke something or Grill some Chicken wings??? Thoughts??

Ocho talks a lot and he's an attention whore and all, but he's one of the NFL's good guys. I like him.

I couldn't possibly care less.

Really, this is the least interesting outcome to any of the other possibilities.

Do what I call slow-grillling. Remove water pan, do fire very small like you would for smoking, and turn meat about halfway through--an hour or so for chicken thighs and such.

Too bad they can't tie. Hate to see a Manning, any Manning, win and I'm thoroughly fed up with the Brady slobberfest.

I think I read an article recently that quoted TG saying this next season would be his last.

Even the San Fran vs. New England game would have a little bit of a story to it. It would be Brady getting back at his favorite team growing up, for passing on him in the draft.

Lol at Pollardgate.
I also agree with you about the Giant Way of doing things. I'm kinda routing for the them in this one because I think Manning has quietly turned into a great QB, but mostly because of how much this would piss off the Patriots. Just think how bad they want to get back at the Giants for ruining the perfect season. Then to lose to them again. That's just great.

It would be cool to see Brian Waters get a ring though.

I have to almost puke on this, but I guess the Pats. Reason--I hate any team from New Jersey York. Yankees, Rangers, Nyets, even a Little League team from there. I hate New Jersey York and anything from there.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong. And I'm sure some of you will tell me I am. But I'm not. Peace out, y'all!!

For all the talk of parity we sure do see the same teams in the playoffs and the superbowl every season.

Because the rules have made it so success hinges entirely on the quality of the guy behind center, parity has been destroyed.

I'm getting closer and closer every season to just tuning out.

Parity hasn't been destroyed. Every team still has the same opportunity to pick players at the positions that do the most to put them in contention (i.e. QB, DE/OLB, LT). The fact that some teams don't pick those players doesn't mean there's no parity.

Besides, IIRC, every team except the Bills and Lions has won their division sometime in the last decade. If 93.75% doesn't meet your definition of parity, what does?

Yes. Sometimes, because of scheduling, there is a flash in the pan team that has one good season and plummets back to 4-12. That is not parity. The cleveland browns or Kc chiefs making the playoffs are not examples of parity.

3 teams stand head and shoulders above the rest of the AFC... and now it's only two.

Wanna bet the Pats or Steelers are in the game next year?

This isn't 2002. Parity in the NFL is dead. That era is over. There are dominant teams and consistently bad teams now. There is a HUGE gap between the best and the worst, and it's largely because the importance of one position has been increased to a ridiculous level.

Ever since Godell took over we've had more bad defenses in the big game than I think all of the other SB's combined. Look.... another bad defensive team is in this year!

I understand your point, but parity implies a level playing field. The field is level. Every team possesses the resources to hire a franchise QB. If they lack adequate scouting to identify such a player, or if they lack the common sense to realize the importance of doing so, that's on them. A lack of parity is what occurs in baseball, wherein at least a third of the franchises can't afford to field a real team.

(This is in no way intended as an affront to either of you personally.)

Dumb and dumber.

Yes, Belichick, Pioli, Weis, et al fell ass backwards into one of the all time great QBs, but it's revisionist history to state that Patriot Way is nothing more than to fall ass backwards into Tom Brady. For one, Tom was not exceptional right out of the gate. He was above average with clear potential for growth, but he wasn't the player we think of now until 2004. Secondly, it's not like they were ignoring the QB position altogether the way Pioli is now. They had a 1st round QB with playoff wins, Pro Bowl appearances, etc. Brady turned out to be a whole lot better than Bledsoe, but it's not like they were operating without a plan. They just found a better plan.

As for anybody who would think a coach with five SB rings in seven SB appearances should be canned, that's just f**king retarded.

I may be missing the point you are trying to make Jonas but if the Pats and Steelers were favored in the rules then why would coaches leave the teams? The Pats have lost a number of OC's over the years and the Steelers lost both DC and OC. The Steelers have even changed Head Coaches. I think these teams are always there cause they draft well and quite possibly get lucky at times.
