A friend just called me to inform that he called the newspaper sponsor and gave them holy hell about this chick's automated voting. Hell, she got 10 votes while I was simply looking at her vote total--just kept going ka-ching. He even threatened to go to the contributing sponsors and expose the whole charade. Have to admit--I don't mind losing if it's done properly. Could get pretty interesting.

This thing is at the very least amatuer as hell.

Now you have to register (which is good) and they have what appears to be a strict 5 vote per day policy, despite saying they allow 10 votes per day on their rules section.

Hell, I went to put in a password, it says directly above the field it can have 8-20 characters. Knowing this damn thing is a joke how it's put together, I put "f**kpasswords" as my password. Turns out, thats over the 10 character max they actually allow on passwords. I put together more complex shit on a geocities site in the 90s with less problems than these choads.

LOL, you can still submit a response for review without registering, so under Rebecca I put, 'Hey, review this, this girl is cheating, I think I can spot an auto vote bot when I see one. Investigation time.' It won't be posted, but someone has to read it to review it. This contest is crooked.

After contacting the two people allegedly in charge of this charade I got an email this morning which gave the impression that no one at the contest knew anything about anything. I actually had to send a detailed explanation. Jeez, new procedures put in and the people running the show have no clue? Morons. Complete morons. This isn't over by a long shot. They pissed off the wrong guy in this deal.

Did you ever find out why they knock off 250 votes off your total yet didnt touch #7 or #2? That seems pretty fishy to me. There are some contestants that have 21 votes, then you have the one with 3000+, very strange. Even if you look at the comments made on Rebecca's page, they all look like they were posted by the same person, I guess to make it look like she had a lot of friends. This girl must have more friends then Mark Zuckerberg.

Just got off the phone with person supposedly in charge. Get this--she had NO CLUE what was going on! With vote totals or procedures or anything. Just told them to pull my photo, etc. from contest since whole deal was pretty botched. Thanks to all for support and help.

So sorry that you had to get involved with such treachery. If they can't see that the contestant number 2 is up to no good, then they don't deserve to be a newspaper.

What really got me was the fact that she didn't even know about the new voting, the large numbers, or any aspect at all of the contest. Incompetents all of them.

What's funny is that she keeps telling Razor that they knew nothing that is going on in the contest, yet my comments keep getting reviewed and not posted, so someone has to be paying attention or all my comments about how much of a sham this is would be on there. Don't worry David, I didn't post anything until you withdrew, and I think I posted something under each woman's profile all detailing what Rebecca was doing.

Well, I got a favorable response on Facebook, but I only have 184 friends on there (yes, thats bad, but I dont accept everyone) and you would have to think most of them wont take time to vote, some have. Hopefully it helps, but to battle that one woman getting over 100 overnight, we need more help.

I tested this statement and I can confirm that warthog does not accept every friend request on Facebook. I think it's because I mistakenly called him warhog for a year or two. :teeth:

Sorry, I will get to that. I am bad at accepting people. I see it and just let it sit for awhile. I don't usually click those accept at one big swoop. My bad. And yes, you do remember that well. When I first joind the Huddle in 2004, you called me Warhog. I think it was because of my backing of Bush at the time.

LOL. It was an honest mistake. I really thought your SN was warhog. I've since been prescribed glasses.
