In a heart beat I would trade Charles if it meant drafting an elite QB prospect

I'd put anything on the table to get a shot at a real QB. Of course I don't want a stupid, reckless trade. But if Pioli and company think RGIII is going to be an elite QB at this level and will lead this team for the next 10 years - that automatically makes him more valuable than anybody on the roster (or next years first round pick, etc...).

It would be stupid to throw Charles in a trade, because we'd still have to give up a ton on top of that. Plus it would accelerate his cap money making it lack sense financially as well. So really it's a moot point.

He's a running back coming off of an injury. He has more value on the field than in a trade.

Why even worry about the draft at this point, without having the senior bowl, the combine, the pro days...i mean, talk about getting upset over something WAY too early.

I think (and hope) that Scott intends to get a QB in FA instead of the draft. That way he gets a known commodity. And then he'll draft a QB in the 4th or 5th again for development and go from there.

So speaking of rumors...there was a rumor that Pioli put out there in an interview recently that he has no intentions of moving up the draft to get a QB...probably go after one in FA or grab one in later rounds.

I hate to say this, and it makes me sick...but I think we're stuck with Matt for a while...who knows, maybe Stanzi will be our next SB winning QB.

DeBerg, Kreig, Montana, Bono, GrBac, Green, Cassel.

Going after others teams rejects and castoffs has worked so well for this team through the years.

One can argue that Montana and Green were exceptions, but the fact is that teams that are consistently in the hunt grow their own QBs, with one real exception (Drew Brees).

The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expect different results.
The definition of In Kansas City is to keep bringing in cast off QBs and expect different results.

Pioli said he wouldn't be opposed to trading up, but he would be opposed to giving up multiple first round picks to do so.

I totally agree. We have went a long time with this philosophy of not needing a franchise QB, almost as long s we have went without a Super Bowl appearance. Not a coincidence. We have to do anything we can to develop a franchise QB. I can't stand the attitude that we should even try to because we always fail, keep going until you get one.

FYI - Crennel will be interviewing potential coaches/coordinators at the Senior Bowl. The actual game is 6 days from now, so we might know the finalized coaching staff within a week or two at the most.

Some Senior Bowl Rumors.

Now I got this from Walterfootball.com so take it for what it is worth.

They stated that the Chiefs are talking and looking at a lot of OL guys. They didn't specify which.

And here are the following players they said the Chiefs got numbers from and or set interviews with.

Virginia DE Cam Johnson ( getting alot of praise from scouts and Mike Mayock)
Arkansas DE Jake Bequette ( Has done well and can play both 4-3 and 3-4 i guess)
Ohio St. Boom Herron
Iowa St. CB Lenard Johnson( also getting a lot of praise from scouts and Mike Mayock. Mayock compares him to Flowers)
and
Penn St. OL Johnnie Troutman

Who will be the player from Iowa that we will draft this year? We have to have one each year right?

Chiefs | A possibility for BenJarvus Green-Ellis?

Wed, 15 Feb 2012 05:14:11 -0800

New England Patriots impending free-agent RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis would be a good fit for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs will likely be looking for a running back to pair with RB Jamaal Charles (knee), who is coming back from a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Impending free-agent RB Thomas Jones likely won't be brought back and while RB Jackie Battle likely could have a future in Kansas City, an upgrade may be needed.

nothing quite like reading something into it when it's not there...just sayin...

besides, following Berry on FB, he's more than ready to go at this point. I think the article was concentrating more on the offensive side of the ball...

And we're concentrating on safeties...that's a good thing...sign some depth in free agency to back up Berry and Lewis...buh bye sabby and mcgraw and whoever that other guy was that was pretending to play football...

I believe that was Donald Washington.

He wasn't good, but he did actually play better than I expected.

He was converted after his rookie year. He surprised me by making a few plays, but his ass ends up on the ground way too easily. Anytime he tries to make a sharp cut, he just falls over.

Anyways, Langford is the best backup safety on the team right now, but he doesn't get much playing time. McGraw is still solid on his on weeks, but he has far too many off weeks.

McGraw is great at knowing where he's supposed to be.

The problem is that he's not athletic enough to get there usually, and even if he is he can't cover or tackle worth a piss.

At this point, yup. He was a decent tackler three years ago.

He had a nice little career. I'm happy he had half of it here. But it's time.
