They announce this booger on December 27th. I'm guessing we will have DJ, Tamba, and maybe Flowers. Anyone else?

BTW, they have posted the leading vote getters here:

http://www.nfl.com/p..._headline_stack

12 out of the 18 starting spots of the leading vote getters are either Ravens (7) or Patriots (5). I can kind of understand the Patriots, but 7 Ravens? Let's hope the coaches and players do a good job of balancing that out.

My name is Maximus Decimus Warthog, member of HomeoftheChiefs.com, former season ticket holder of the lower level , loyal servant to the true coach, Martimus Schottenheimer. Father to disenfranchised sons, husband to a non football fanatic wife, and I will see my Chiefs in a Super Bowl, in this life or the next.

I still think they should take the fans out of this and let the players only vote

Ya gotta give some love to DJ for this. Dude deserves it. He has come into his own, and is becoming a leader on this D. Tamba is Tamba, but will the Chiefs' outcome, dictate his? Both Flowers and Carr deserve consideration.

Hali is 1 sack behind Suggs right now. If he gets a couple more this weekend he will be in first place in AFC. No way he doesn't make it.

I think Brandon Carr is getting some recognition nationally, especially after that Green Bay game. He was one of the top guys last year in passes defensed. I doubt he'll make the list though.

DJ isn't just having a probowl season.

He's having an All-Pro season. I'm not sure there's an inside backer playing better football right now.

Flowers should NOT go to the Probowl. He should have gone last season. This season he leads the NFL in TD catches allowed and he leads by an enormous margin.

Does anyone actually watch the Pro Bowl? Ever? I've tried, and, God help me, I can't usually make it more than about ten minutes.

Marge: I think owning the Denver Broncos is pretty good.
Homer: Yeah, yeah.
Marge: Well, explain to me why it isn't.

I've watched the probowl.

The last time I watched it, Dale Carter got an interception on an overthrow by Troy Aikman.

So... Yeah. There you go.

I just don't see the point. I think they should set the roster to keep the accolade, and give up on the game. No one cares. Not even the players.

I've watched most of them. I watched the ones where we sent our entire offense. I watched a few after that to see the Williams Wall, and I watched the one Casey made when he was in Denver just to see him and Brian play together again.

Man, it's watered down, but it's still football. I love football. I've literally pulled my truck over to watch a pick up game. During basketball season I play Tecmo Bowl at least once a week to fill the void. I even watch that atrocity where they drag out the 50 year old vets to play touch football in the sand. Football is a lot like head. It's gotta be pretty damn bad to be worse than whatever else you were planning on doing with your day.

Also, give them that vacation to Hawaii.

Then every KC chief who deserves the Probowl is going.

No complaints from me.

Yeah. You could make a case for the Brandon boys on defense, but I think a couple players is all the better a below average team could expect to make it.

I think Flowers is a probowl caliber player, but the probowl isn't a career award. He should have gone last season.

Lardarius Webb should have gone over Bailey though. 0 TD's allowed 5 int's and a 54 passer rating against him.

Joseph and Revis had better seasons than Flowers without question.

it's a popularity contest, not a skill measurement award...otherwise, Gates wouldn't be in there, Polamaulu(sp?) (guy has been good, but has he been pro bowl level this year?) Waters (according to some people on here anyways)...

Yeah. People blame the fans but what they don't want to accept is that players themselves have a bit of a 'buddy system' going that really prevents them from being objective as well.

I don't think it's just the players though either....the media, the nfl...i mean all these reporters that claim to be objective...nope...they'll almost always only vote for someone in their conference/division.

Until they change the way the voting is done, the Pro Bowl will always be a joke...oh, and fan voting...yeah, that needs to go away entirely
