Why would anyone want an accurate QB with the arm to throw the ball deep with zip, fantastic accuracy, great decision making, and track star speed?

He's not perfect. His release is a little slow. He's a little undersized. He's been in a spread, so he's not used to being under center or calling the plays in the huddle. Still, I'm thoroughly impressed with him.

If we have to, we should trade up to get him.

I don't think we trade up to get him he's gonna have to fall to us. As many have said we have a ton of holes on both Off and Def. lines and Depth everywhere. We need our picks right now.

Trust me I want him as much as anyone. But I will settle for someone else if he is gone when we pick. Sorry...

Holes can be shored up in a lot of ways.

Until we PRIORITIZE the QB position, we're going to continue not winning anything.

A mediocre team with a great QB is closer to a championship than a great team with bad QB.

Settle for someone else, which means a QB of lesser value than what the top of the draft has to offer. I still don't understand why Chiefs' fans find it ok to be mediocre. This has been the Chiefs mantra for years, win enough games to have the fans keep coming back. We will not win without a franchise QB, period. You have to spend to gain. If we had to trade up so be it, although I think we will be in position to pick one of the top 3 qb's.

I guess I don't understand the meaning of 'driftin' here. Is it used in a NASCAR terminology? Because I am lost on NASCAR. I can see 'whiffin4Griffin' because the Chiefs would have to whiff the last few games to get him. Or how about this, 'Barfin4Barkley'.

I am not saying the QB position isn't important!! All I was saying was there are a lot of Qb's most likely coming out this year. And we don't have to sell the farm to get Luck or RG3. And I am not saying we should wait till the 6th rd to get one either.

And you could argue the same with the Def. line and Off line. We have tried to sure up the NT spot for 3 years now, and it has blown!

Well, we haven't really tried to shore up the NT spot. Powe looked okay in the PT he got against NE.

I just don't see our run defense (the main reason the NT is so important) to be crippling our team. Obviously it's a need though.

What I think cripples us is terrible 3rd down play, an ineffective run AND pass game, and a horribly inconsistent defense. I think our defensive struggles are largely because Hali is our only good pass rusher. Our DE's have NO pass rush ability at all. I don't expect 3-4 DE's to pick up 15 sacks a season, but c'mon... a good one should nab like four or five.

Pass rush is our major defensive concern. In other areas we are okay, although not as consistent as you pointed out. Fact is, with Hali on one side, it's a major problem we can't find anyone who can be productive playing opposite. We got a way better pass rush vs the Pats than we had in the previous 5 games, but we can't ever seem to get the rush when we need it.
