It is pretty amazing. It's hard to imagine a QB eating his way out of a job, but I watched it happen. Sure, it's not impossible for him to grow up and learn some valuable life lessons, but I'm absolutely with Stephen A. Smith here. I wouldn't even entertain the thought of giving Russell a shot.

I would if he showed up in shape, committed, and humbled.

From what Russel said it's obvious he still refused to be accountable for his awful play, so obviously he's not humbled. He's never been in shape, and he's never been committed.

I believe in 2nd chances if the person at least attempts to display that they have learned something. Russel would be best to totally own everything, get in excellent shape and start LIVING and BREATHING football (because that's what good QB's do). If he had done that, he might have gotten another shot. Face it... he was a #1 overall pick for a reason. He has talent. Too bad he's never acquired the skills a QB has to have.

Never before have I seen a player who gave a f**k less than Jamarcus Russel. That's the worst possible thing a player can do... or not do.... as it were.

I agree with Jonas.

That quote was inexcusable. Who cares what your old teammates or HC said. If he wants to prove them wrong he needs to work his ass off and show that he is truly a new man. In the NFL you show it on the field, not in the interviews.

I can't see him getting another shot, I think that he probably has the talent, but talent without even an inkling of motivation is worth very little.

The guy I dated before my husband was like that - very, very talented musician, but wasn't willing to work hard to be successful (he expected the world to discover his talent and throw money at his feet).

He's still trying to "make it" and trying to get a gig, over twenty years later, so I understand. I wonder which family member he's sponging off of, given he won't work to support himself, either?

Did she just say I'm not talented?

I'm pretty sure she just said I'm not talented.
