Former Kansas City QB Brodie Croyle is expected to sign with the Cardinals later today, a sign that backups John Skelton (ankle) and Max Hall (left shoulder) could be questionable for Saturday's game against the Chargers.
Skelton didn't practice on Monday after suffering a right ankle sprain in last Friday's game against Green Bay. Hall suffered his injury in practice on Monday. I don't know the extent of Hall's injury Coach Ken Whisenhunt will be available to reporters in about an hour, so I'll add more in a hour.
Without Skelton and Hall, the Cardinals would have entered Saturday's game with just two quarterbacks, Kevin Kolb and Rich Bartel. That's a risky proposition in preseason.
Signing Croyle makes sense. He spent five years with the Chiefs, including two under Todd Haley, the former Cardinals offensive coordinator under Whisenhunt. The similarities in offense should make Croyle's learning curve less steep.

Good luck Brodie, maybe you will eventually get your first NFL win someday.

Well, I hope he finds success there... I doubt it, but I do not wish bad on him.
Pure blind luck... it's been protecting children from fire for centuries!

You know, there is no shame in being remembered as a pretty good college QB.

No there isn't.

The problem for Leaf is that his pro legacy, because of his behavior, overshadows his college legacy.

He may be a dickbag, but Leaf probably belongs in the College Football Hall of Fame. Brodie would be lucky if he got put in the Alabama University Hall of Fame (he probably won't, even though he did temporarily rewrite some school records).

Leaf was always a dickbag though, whereas Brodie has always been an awesome person. That should count for something.

He could go into the Hall of Good Guys, along with Studebaker.

Actually, I was more getting at the fact that I would much rather lead the life of Brodie Croyle than Ryan Leaf, and not just because I'd get to bang Kelli Croyle. Karma, whether exacted by an angry God or sheer comeuppance, does exist.

Marge: I think owning the Denver Broncos is pretty good.

I'm not going to get in some great big philosophical debate with you over this, especially if you're taking me literal on a throwaway line, but while I've seen bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people, it's been my experience that overwhelmingly people get treated the way they treat others. Not as a rule, it isn't going to stop someone from getting cancer or from being crushed by a bus, but in a not perfectly balanced or necessarily fair way it happens, even if it's just the way people respond to you on a personal level.

I don't want to get into a philosophical debate either, but it's just life, and karma has nothing to do with what happens in life.
