Well, the Kansas City Chiefs didn't get GM Scott Pioli's old friend Ty Warren. The former New England Patriots defensive end joined the Denver Broncos, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Warren was surprisingly released last weekand went on a free agency tour that included stops in Denver and the Houston Texans. He was scheduled to visit the Chiefstoday (though I can't confirm whether he made that visit or not) but ended up choosing the Broncos.

The cost of Ty Warren: $10 million over two years with $2.5 million guaranteed.
Warren's one of those guys that I thought the Chiefs should bring in simply because he's a good player and understands what the Chiefs are trying to do defensively.

At the same time, they have a pair of top five picks at defensive end. Who do you replace with Warren? Dorsey, who made a heck of a leap last year to turn into a solid 3-4 defensive end? Or Jackson, who we're hoping makes a leap in year three?

In the end, the Chiefs didn't get him but they will be seeing him twice a year. I'm not exactly thrilled to see Richard Seymour and Ty Warren in the same division

I'm starting to have the same mind set about FA that I had about the draft. Which is if we have heard people connecting them to the Chiefs, we aren't going to be getting them.

Which sucks because I was hoping we got McClain. I think we could use another RB.

This is just not Denver's year

Quote

I had just landed in Kansas City in preparation of my visit to the Chiefs’ training camp when I received word that the Denver Broncos may have suffered a serious injury.
New defensive lineman Ty Warren may have suffered a serious triceps injury. He is being examinedand the extent of the injury is not known. But he could be out a while.

Warren’s absence would hurt Denver. He was the Broncos’ big free-agent signing as he signed a two-year, $8 million deal after being cut by New England. He was expected to bring stability to Denver’s weakest spot on the roster. To make matters worse, fellow Denver defensive tackle Marcus Thomas suffered a pectoral injury in practice Monday. The injuries occurred minutes apart. Thomas’ status is not known, either.

Warren’s injury would likely mean newly acquired Brodrick Bunkley will get more playing time. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Broncos look for veteran help at the position in the next month if Warren’s injury is serious.

See, that is karma for him not even visiting KC before signing with the Donkeys. That is what will happens.
