Jul 27, 2011 - Bruce Gradkowski has agreed to a two-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals, according to a report by Adam Schefter. It will be the quarterback's fourth team in six years in the NFL.

Drafted in the sixth round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Gradkowski has yet find his niche in the league. While the 28-year-old is slowly becoming a journeyman quarterback, his situation seems more to do with opportunity than anything else. In between muddled stops in Tampa Bay, Cleveland, and Oakland, Gradkowski has performed reasonably well when given the starting nod, throwing for 3883 yards, 20 touchdowns and 23 interceptions in 32 games.

He joins a Bengals team without a clear starting option at quarterback. Longtime incumbent Carson Palmer is apparently set to retire, and second-round pick Andy Dalton has been tabbed as the future of the franchise; though the present is much less defined. In all likelihood, Gradkowski will be a stopgap between the two eras, serving as a veteran presence to bring up the youngster.
