October 6, 1990, a day which lives in infamy

My name is Maximus Decimus Warthog, member of HomeoftheChiefs.com, former season ticket holder of the lower level , loyal servant to the true coach, Martimus Schottenheimer. Father to disenfranchised sons, husband to a non football fanatic wife, and I will see my Chiefs in a Super Bowl, in this life or the next.

People often forget that this was actually a big deal and not just MU whining. MU had just come off of a win against #21 Arizona State, and had they of officially won this game, it may have been the bump they needed to go to a bowl game.

It's amazing how far Missouri football has came in 20 years.

Not only that AKB, but there were a couple of other things about that play. If CU didn't get that 5th down, no way do they get the share of the national championship that year. That was huge. Also, you'll never convince me that CJ got in the end zone anyways. He just plain didn't score. I've seen that 5th down plays many times and still haven't seen him get in the end zone.

I'll agree about that. I was mostly looking at it from a historical Mizzou long-term perspective.

I actually didn't start paying attention to Mizzou football until around the time Pinkel got here, so all this was stuff I learned after the fact. My heart would have sank if I actually watched that as it happened. :jester:
