I kind of like the way the draft is divided up into separate nights. The first round is done and now we have all kinds of projections on how the second round will go with the remaining players available. I like the suspense and the extra time given fr wheeling and dealing. They got this one right. Also, it gives all of the first round picks time to shine in the sun for a day.

My name is Maximus Decimus Warthog, member of HomeoftheChiefs.com, former season ticket holder of the lower level , loyal servant to the true coach, Martimus Schottenheimer. Father to disenfranchised sons, husband to a non football fanatic wife, and I will see my Chiefs in a Super Bowl, in this life or the next.

At first I thought I'd hate it, but so far, so good. This is the first time I can remember actually taking a shower on the day of the draft! I usually wake up early Saturday AM and loaf on the couch for two days straight! This is definitely more palatable for the casual fan. The diehards will stick around till Saturday afternoon. I do feel a little bit like Johnny 5 though...I am dying waiting all day. Need more input!

I would make one change. I would have the first night on Friday instead of Thursday. Round 2 and 3 on Sat and the rest on Sunday

Not sure about that. There's still some "drama" (for lack of a better word) that goes on in round 2, especially this year with Clausen and Colt McCoy still out there. I agree with what they're doing with the the first two rounds being on Thursday and Friday nights and then the rest on Saturday.

They just said on NFL Network that there were more viewers last night then in draft history. I will guess this format is here to stay.

I like the format too. Like Wart said it makes it more suspenseful! One of the best round 1's I have seen before. I really wonder how much the prime time time effected the draft. With more people watching I can't think it didn't make people make want to make big plays to get fans excited.

They are watching because they are not mowing the yard or going to garage sales. They get home from work. My wife made me tivo the three shows we nomally watch while we were at the draft

Something I didn't really consider until just now is that this format will make the casual (or at least less hardcore) fan care more about the 2nd round.

Alot of people have the attitude that only the 1st round matters to them. However, sports talk is being utterly dominated by both who has been taken and who is left. It's an interesting situation. People will care more about early 2nd rounders sliding than they would have previously.

I was somewhat against the new format, but actually seeing it in action, I'm impressed.

I hears a suggestion on ESPN a little whilw ago and I agree with it. STOP SHOWING THE PLAYERS ON THE PHONE!! It gives it away before the pick is announced.

That goes for NFL Network too!!! Posted Image

I loved the new format personally. Just don't moderate an internet stream of it. Chat was filled with the most inconsiderate, piss poor excuse viewers I've ever witnessed. Posted Image
