Why did we let him go in the first place? LOL

Was he THAT expendable at the time or what? I can't quite remember. At this point I would say hell yes, sign him now!! Put the man at Right Guard, starting :checkit:

He was a rookie and the Chiefs hoped to sneak him onto the practice squad.

I can see myself buying into this one as long as we don't don't overspend. Hometown boy comes home--I'm good. Plus, we're dangerously short of "true guards" and it would give DC a chance to split his love between McGraw and Lilja. :neener:

Just my opinion, I could be wrong. And I'm sure some of you will tell me I am. But I'm not. Peace out, y'all!!

This is actually a no brainer. We need a guard, he's only 29 years old, he's played for a champion, he IS from around here. We need to hear news today that we are inviting him in or some kind of news about this going forward.

Picking up Lilja would immediately address a need, and free up a draft slot. I see no reason why we shouldn't sign this guy.

Okung-Waters-Niswanger-Lilja-Albert

Now we would be getting somewhere. Or would you move Lilja back to his left guard position and move Waters?

Niswanger? Seriously? Certainly we can find someone off the local JV team to play center...even that is an improvement.

Yeah if we can get Lilja we can get a rookie in the draft that can take the center spot.

Everybody rightfully has warm fuzzies for Lilja. Local kid, started on a Super Bowl team, should have been on our team already. What more could you ask for?

My only question is he's sort of undersized and has traditionally played LG in a pass happy offense. I wonder if he's physical enough to play RG in what most of us would presume would be a run-oriented offense (Charles + Jones = ZOMG!!!1one)

I hope we sign Lilja, and I'd have to imagine he's an upgrade on what we got. I just wonder if he's really a slam dunk type player, that's all.
