Im wanting to get started early this year and I have 8 guys that I am going to start researching. Three of them I'm not sure will declare early or not, but if anyone has any info or any other prospects you think I should look into please let me know.

Mark Ingram. I know he is only a sophmore but he is the only runningback I have looked into thus far.

Dez Bryant. I think he may have declared for the draft by now? May have some charactor issues?

Arthur Jones. Probably a moo point here since we have drafted 3-4 ends in the top five the last two years but he seemed to fit the profile of a good 3-4 end should be part ways with Dorsey.

Terrance Cody and Dan Williams. Both big bodied guys that would seem to make good NT.

Greg Hardy. Would he be able to make the transition to a 3-4 OLB?

Taylor Mays and Eric Berry. I think we need a big time safety and these two seem to be the best available if Berry does declare.

If anyone has some thoughts on these guys or any other prospect for that matter, or any suggestions on who else I should look into it would be appreciated.

Yo, milkman! Who's our QBOTF prospect this year? I can already tell that I'll be playing the "we should draft a QB in the first round" card again this year, mostly because provoking people is the only fun part of the offseason.

Marge: I think owning the Denver Broncos is pretty good.
Homer: Yeah, yeah.
Marge: Well, explain to me why it isn't.
Homer: [sighs] You just don't understand football, Marge.

I can't say I like any of the QB prospects this year.

Jimmy Clausen, Sam Bradford, Jake Locker.

Meh....

Tim Tebow's not even credible enough for you to derisively dismiss him... ouch.

Ok since eveyone is dismissing Suh as a NT. Who will make a good NT, because that has to one thing we go for? Does anyone else think that Haley will want to take a WR in the first couple of rounds?

Dan Williams.

Hopefully not a WR. I think Chalmbers and Bowe is a nice combo. Would like to see a very speedster WR on the later rounds though.

I think 3-4 NT is too glaring a hole to spend another pick on. We need a guy to step in right away. That, to me, says free agency. With the money being there, Pioli should be able to net one of Vince Wilfork or Casey Hampton. I figure the Pats will do everything they can to retain Wilfork (why trade Seymour otherwise), but the Steelers are known for letting guys walk when they become older and more expensive. They also don't really make a habit of franchising guys either, at most they'll use the transition tag. After a losing season like this, I figure Hampton might be looking forward to a change in scenery and the opportunity to cash in from a struggling team that's willing to overpay for his services as a means to getting good again.

I'm keen on Berry in round 1, and once again, I agree with milkman on the later OT. Last year we both liked Tupou from Oregon, and this year I am hoping we can get Jason Fox from the U and Brandon Spikes (ILB, Florida) with our two second rounders.

Pioli is going to have to show some kind of commitment to winning before any free agent will agree to come to this team. He's going to have to make a splash in the off season.

I think the first 3 picks we make have to address the glaring holes we have in the secondary and on both lines. I'm not opposed to filling some of those (NT) through FA, but if we can't, we've got to look at that first before any WRs. What's up with Colin Brown? Was that just a clever ploy to keep him around or is there a serious injury? Also, I'd like to see a banging back (Okoye-type) in the later rounds. We've got our only decent back , Charles, getting way too many touches. As much as I like Battle, I think he's done and Smith just doesn't light my fire.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong. And I'm sure some of you will tell me I am. But I'm not. Peace out, y'all!!

In the preseason, I really liked what I saw from Colin Brown at guard (a terrible 5th round OT pick, but that's another discussion), as well as Daryl Harris.

Those two might well have a future as RG-LG respectively, which leaves us a glaring hole at center and a much needed upgrade at RT.

I would start my draft with Eric Berry in the first, then go Jason Fox (depending on availability) in the second, Kris O'Dowd with the additional second, Eric Norwood in the third.

I wouldn't look at RB until the fourth, only if Montario Hardesty or Evan Royster are there, other wise I'd look at Boo Robinson here and as him to add about 15 lbs to play the nose.

I might look at Toby Gerhart in the second in place of O'Dowd and look at Matt Tenant in the fourth as an alternative plan.

But the two positions I consider priorities are are Center and NT, so I still might go with Dan Williams in teh second as well, though I think Boo can add the needed weight and have a higher upside.

Dan Williams and Terrance Cody are the top two prosects. There are questions about Cody's weight (I think he is at about 360 right now). I absolutely agree that NT has to be addressed. Depending on who is available the only WR I think we could even consider at this point is Dez Bryant, but I really think that our group of receivers is good enough that we could wait until the mid rounds.

Even with Cassel's play thus far I still would hate to see us go QB in round one. So I am looking to the later rounds, does anyone have an opinion on Lefevour out of Central Michigan or Hiller from Western Michigan? Just from looking at some of their stats and their size, they appear to be worthy of a later round pick.

For Wide Reciever, I know this is a homer pick but he is really good, how about Danario Alexander. We might be able to get him with our 3rd round pick or our later 2nd rounder
