MU 25 in AP poll

By Blair Kerkhoff - Posted on 08 September 2009

It’s Kansas by one spot over Missouri.

The Associated Press top 25 released on Tuesday has the Jayhawks moving up only one spot to No. 24, and the Tigers, right on their tail, entering the poll at No. 25.

In the preseason ranking, Mizzou received three votes, enough to be the 48th team. This time, they got 126 points.

Dominating Illinois 37-9 got the Tigers back on the list, and if the poll is an indication the Big 12 North could be a tight race among Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska, ranked 22nd.

Oklahoma State made a big move, jumping from ninth to fifth. Oklahoma fell to 13th.

In the USA Today coaches poll, Kansas, unranked in the preseason, entered the list at No. 25, while Missouri received enough votes to be ranked 27th.

As long as when you say 'misery' you mean Mark Mangino, I'm all for that.
