I hate to give credit to Nebraska, but they deserve it. Not all of this loss was the Tigers fault, although there were several occasions where MU overpursued or were caught out of position to give up a big play.

I still think the game would have turned out far differently if not for the monster 1st quarter for NU, but hey, those things happen. Now I'm just rooting for someone to trip Nebraska up and Mizzou winning out. That's the best that could happen.

I think their heads were still off in Lincoln.

Considering all the success the offense was having early that night, especially running the ball, the real problem was they didn't put the game away early and gave Tech a chance to get back in it. They put up a ton of yards, but not enough points. Another score early and then you're talking about a 20-3 or 24-3 deficit, which is alot harder to overcome emotionally than being down 14 points.

I also think people underrate the loss of DT Dominique Hamilton to injury in the middle. Obviously the DEs have been awesome for Mizzou, but without a big body to stuff the run and push the pocket, they haven't been nearly as good on defense.

Now as far as the Kansas State game, they obviously played much better on both sides of the ball, because Kansas State IMO is a better team than Tech.

Early bowl projection consensus is Missouri v. Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl in Yankee Stadium.

Well damn. I wish I could go. Have fun.

Seems like an interesting matchup. North Carolina is underachieving and also 7-5. They have a talented defense. Hard to say who I'd expect to win in between these two.

Well, I hope you enjoyed the game, Chi-Town. The weather was crap, but Mizzou straight up slaughtered North Carolina. Very little doubt about that game.

I think there's alot to look forward to with Mizzou football heading into the SEC. James Franklin will be another year more mature, though the offensive line will be younger (though perhaps more talented with guys like Evan Boehm coming up). Maty Mauk looks to be the next great Mizzou QB after him. I think our offense will surprise some people in the SEC and our defense is way better than people realize. These next couple years under Franklin will go a long way in forming the future for Mizzou as a football school in the SEC.

Yeah, it was a great game, but I would be lying if I said I was there. We decided we didn't want to sit in the cold wet so we decided to cheer from the house lol

I think Mizzou made the SEC feel pretty good about their choice to take them after that performance Monday. Yes, the Tarheels are in the ACC but they were supposed to have an SEC style defense and were among the top defenses in the country. The Tigers made them look silly. I don't care how many NFL caliber players NC had, we had the better team, by far. Looking forward to see how Franklin and company do against the SEC, I think they'll be alright.

Yeah, I am hoping they have the same deal this year at the Mizzou football camp so that my kid can get three tix per game again. We didn't use them much last year, but when that Bama game comes around, we may have to get there. That will be fun.

Vote Aldon Smith NFL Pepsi Rookie of the Year

Smith kicked butts for the 49ers this season to the tune of 14 sacks. I love watching Mizzou players thrive in the NFL, a trend I expect to see more of. I was really hoping he'd be competing against Blaine Gabbert for this honor, but I suppose nobody's perfect.
