NEW YORK - Toronto Raptors forward Chris Bosh was named the Eastern Conference's player of the week Monday, while New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul took the Western Conference honour.

Bosh led the Raptors to a 3-0 week, including two road wins, by averaging 26.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists.

He recorded at least 20 points in all three contests and led the team in rebounds each game.

Paul also led the Hornets to a 3-0 week, pacing the league in assists with 12.0 per game, to go along with 21.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals.

I was at the home opener and it is looking good for the Raps this season!!!

The Raps are definitely an overlooked team in the East right now. Jose Calderon is a wizard with the basketball...He sees opportunities for passes that no other PG is seeming to see currently.

Chris Bosh is Chris Bosh. He'll continue to improve as years go by. I think it'll be tough however for Toronto to entice him to return when he gets plenty o' big offers in 2010.

If JO can stay healthy this year (which is a big "if"), the Raptors have a strong front court that can contend with anyone. And as long as they get solid production from Parker & Moon, I think they'll be a big problem for any team in the East.
