Bucs agreed to terms with TE Kellen Winslow on a new six-year, $36.1 million contract. The deal includes $20.1 million guaranteed and gives Winslow the opportunity to make another $7 million via incentives.
Winslow wanted a new deal from Cleveland in each of the last two years and new gets it from his new team. The first two years' base salaries are guaranteed for injury and skill, but the third year is only guaranteed for injury. The Bucs likely can get out of the deal by 2012 if Winslow's knees act up again. Winslow remains a bit of an injury risk, but has avoided offseason surgery for the first time in his career and isn't yet 26. He's a solid bet to lead the Bucs in catches and receiving touchdowns this season.
