I was watching this exhibition game tonight between the Cubs and Yankees in the new Yankee Stadium tonight. They are reminiscing a lot about the Yankees and they showed a player that, even though he was a Yankee, I always liked and admired. It was Thurman Munson.

Munson was a fantastic player from a time when I was just becoming a major baseball fan, the late 70's. He was just a tough nose, kind of messy guy. At that time my favorite players were Fred Lynn, Carlton Fisk, George Brett, and Thurman Munson. I was, and still am, a huge Royals and Red Sox fan and always hated the Yanks. But that guy was cool. Who was you favorite, even if you hate them?

My name is Maximus Decimus Warthog, member of HomeoftheChiefs.com, former season ticket holder of the lower level , loyal servant to the true coach, Martimus Schottenheimer. Father to disenfranchised sons, husband to a non football fanatic wife, and I will see my Chiefs in a Super Bowl, in this life or the next.

Huh...can't seem to think of anyone

Babe Ruth I guess. Before my time and a drunk...

The Munson/Fisk rivalry was epic though. 2 tough SoBs and their teams fed off them. There were fights every series in those days lol
