Missouri Tiger's coach Mike Anderson has decided to stay in Columbia and agrees to a new 7 year deal that is expected to pay between 1.3 and 1.5 million dollars a year. Anderson is coming off of the most successful season Missouri has ever seen at 31-7 with a trip to the elite 8.

TRich, you were reporting on this earlier as if you were gleeful that this (Anderson leaving) might happen. Is this a little dissapointing now?

My name is Maximus Decimus Warthog, member of HomeoftheChiefs.com, former season ticket holder of the lower level , loyal servant to the true coach, Martimus Schottenheimer. Father to disenfranchised sons, husband to a non football fanatic wife, and I will see my Chiefs in a Super Bowl, in this life or the next.

He should be, yet, at the same time, he shouldn't be. Because of the fact that Mike Anderson staying, it helps the credibility of the Big XII basketball in whole. What he has done is no easy task. And the Big XII North is as strong as the Big XII South is. This one particitular North/South is pretty evenly balanced, unlike football, where all that goes towards the South.

Smart move on Mike's part. He has the makings to start a basketball tradition at Mizzou.

A classy move and a strong signal to future prospects and their parents. He's embraced the school, embraced the rivalry, and wants to build a program that can eventually knock heads and win against any competition in the Country.

Top Man. :mizzou:
