I know a lot of people hate this, but I have found myself watching a lot of this lately. The USA looked tough last night, Australia beat Mexico, watched Korea beat Japan this morning, and am watching a very good Netherlands-Puerto Rico game right now.

It really sucked awhile ago for Mike Aviles. He was at third with one out, after he doubled, and a passed ball went by the catcher to the screen. At that time it was 1-0 Netherlands in the 7th. If the PR had not come back to take the lead, he could have been a huge goat.

Anyways, it's fun watching these countries play and seeing some Royals play on these teams. Miguel Olivo hit two home runs for the Dominican Republic yesterday. And the at bat Kevin Youkolis had yesterday against Venezuela was fantastic. He worked the pitcher to 11 pitches and then hit a monster home run. Fun.

Just watched a great game between the USA and Puerto Rico. PR was up 5-3 going into the ninth and David Wright got a 1 out bases loaded double to score 2 and win the game. Should have seen it, it looked like the team had just won the world series the way they spilled onto the field. The USA now advances to the final round, the WBS final four if you will.

As a Mets fan I'm glad the Carlos' hit the ball well and of course happy to see David get the big hit but I just can't take the WBC seriously. Any tournament that has pitch counts and mercy rules is tough to get into.

What channel was the game on last night?

It was on the Baseball network I believe. What about Carlos' catch? That was awesome too. The Japan-Korea game was on after that and I watched that one too. Shows you how much of a baseball geek I am.

I actually went to the 2nd México Australia game, it was a run's festival we got the lead and at the end beat the crap out of the aussies.
México didnt have a bullpen worth a crap, in fact all our pitching really sucked outside of Joakim...
