MRI COMING FOR MACLIN
Posted by Mike Florio on February 23, 2009, 12:47 p.m.

Though Missouri receiver Jeremy Maclin returned from a knee injury suffered during Scouting Combine workouts and finished the drills, he’ll reportedly have a precautionary MRI to assess any potential damage to the joint.

“Up until the time he got shaken up, I thought he was having a phenomenal workout,” a source told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Maclin hyperextended the knee. After spending a few minutes on a training table, he “walked off” the injury and returned to running pass routes.

Maclin is the second high end receiver to suddenly be dogged by injury questions. For Texas Tech receiver Michael Crabtree, however, the injury was there when he arrived in Indy.

For Maclin, the injury occurred while he was trying to increase his standing.

MACLIN WON’T HAVE AN MRI AFTER ALL
Posted by Mike Florio on February 25, 2009, 8:13 a.m.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch recently reported that Missouri receiver Jeremy Maclin would undergo a “precautionary” MRI on a knee that he hyperextended while running pass routes at the Scouting Combine.

He missed some time but then finished the drills, reportedly walking gingerly on the injured leg.

But now the Post-Dispatch reports that Maclin won’t have an MRI.

Citing sources close to Maclin, the Post-Dispatch reports that Maclin’s knee is “just fine,” and that only his right hip was sore after the incident.

Missouri has two Pro Days on the calendar, and Maclin hasn’t decided whether he’ll run at the March 5 or the March 19 edition.

If he’s truly healthy in the wake of the Combine, then Maclin would be wise to run on March 5.
