I'm probably going to have the only post on this site for this team lol, but I have to show my boys some love in here. Hopefully we cant stay much healthier and get the pitching back to where it was a few years back. Im lookin forward to the year as I always do. Hopefully this new owner, Jeff Moorad, will run the organization better then John "I'm divorcing and cant spend money on my own team" Moores.

Im a die hard pads fan and I cant fucking stand the way the team is managed, the way they treat the players and the way we "give away" all of our upcoming and established stars every season just to watch them light it up with other teams. Im with you hopefully Jeff spends some damn money to keep players around.

Man, these boys are off to a really good start. Sucks to hear about Everth Cabrera though, I thought he was playing good. Hopefully this team can stick around for awhile and be competitive and surprise a lot of people this year. A division title would be nice but I'll settle for 2nd place and competing for the wild card, that would make me real happy.

What part of the 760 are you from?

i am from the oceanside/vista area. The padres are starting to lose and the pitching is not holding up. Peavy is looking terrible. i think the best thing to do is trade him before his value really goes down the tubes

I love Peavy actually. I think he'll come around and be just fine. He can dominate a game but he does need run support and other then the hot start we had, it hasn't come of late. The one player I do NOT wanna trade is Adrian Gonzalez. He is off limits!!! That man is a stud and putting up those #'s at Petco which means he could damn near have double that if he played at a hitter's park, or at least be the kind of guy to hit .310 to .330 and hit 45-50 HR's, 140 RBI's easily.

It has been a long and dreadful last couple of weeks for the padres. Just got swept by the astros and let oswalt get his first win against us. i knew it was a matter of time before we started seeing the real padres. i was hoping we would stay competitive but it looks like it has turned for the worse. Luckily the DBacks and the Rockies are just as bad as the padres. Hopefully we can turn this around. I believe we should trade peavy and grab some younger players while his value is still hot. right now he doesnt look like the peavy of old

Yeah, I wouldnt doubt that trading Peavy would be better for us as whole, especially with a new owner in Jeff Moorad. I'm also wondering what's gonna happen with Kyle Blanks, he's gotta be a hot commodity too for us. Think he might have some trade value for a shortstop stud or a power hitting right fielder?

The Chicago White Sox have agreed to ship four pitching prospects, including prized left-handers Aaron Poreda and Clayton Richard, to the San Diego Padres for ace right-hander Jake Peavy, but the deal is contingent on Peavy’s acceptance, a baseball source said Thursday.

Forgot to put a link, but that was from yahoo.com and pretty much every other site out there saying the same thing. Looks like if Jake approves it he's officially gone. I like the pitching were getting back but would like to have got Gordon Beckham too.

Peavy used his NTC (No Trade Clause) and the deal goes down in the gutter. Peavy is still a Padre, for the time being.

I'm not suprised, because I think Peavy wants to stay in the National League. Be nice if he'd go to the "other" Chicago team....

Im sure Peavy will be gone by the July 31st deadline, Kevin Towers just better get quality in return. I agree with what they are asking in return for the most part. I'd love to have at least 3-4 prospects in exchange. He's worth them.

I traded Peavy in my video game, MLB The Show, so I guess he's truly gone now. If I can do that, that's saying alot lolol. Oh well, at least I got David Price and more in return, bwahahahaha :rollpound: :rollpound:

With Kevin Towers gone now, I believe the Padres are going to make a splash in the next couple of years. I head the payroll is going to be 40 mill this next season. A lot of players are going to be gone like Giles and etc. I love some of the youth we got like Everth and Blanks. A-Gon did his job and the pitching staff is coming around. Chris Young needs to have a better season and i think the Padres will be a hell of a lot better. I mean the Padres had one of the best records and the end of the season with all those young players. Padres taking the series from the Dodgers, Giants and Rockies at the end. GO PADRES!!!
