Just got back from the game. That had to be the best starting pitching performance of the year. Pitched a perfect game through 4 1/3. Not bad against a line up like the yankees. Hope he keeps it up.

Until Hochevar gets his stuff together Paulino is clearly our best starter, possible best overall. I think Salvador Perez not being in is what is making the most difference with Hochevar
Not in Goodell's NFL. That's where you get a bear hug for getting drafted and stabbed in the back when you screw up.

This is why it sucks watching the worst starting pitching rotation in the league.. Now Tim Collins is giving up homers... Can we stop playing games in Kansas City??

Somehow our pitchers need to learn where the strike zone is. I have heard that our arms in the minors are struggling too.

Am I wrong to say that Yost's job should be on the line just for the back to back bunts tonight? I know we won, but seriously that was just little league bad. Hit away and get two runs instead of just 1, or actually none.

Royals started the year going 3-2. Then they hit a 12 game slide. Since then they've been 10-6. They're 13-8 outside of that losing streak.

This is the real difference between a good and a bad team. A good team finds a way to win a couple games even when they're in a slump. They'll maybe go 2-8 instead of losing 10 outright.

It's not too late for this team this season by a long shot. We're just 4.5 games back despite that horrible stretch of baseball. All three teams ahead of us in the Central standings have lost their last 2 or 3 games. This is would be the best time to do some catching up.

And that brings me to this point. The rest of this month is brutal. The Royals face Texas twice, Baltimore five times, as well as Cleveland, Arizona, and the Yankees each three times. That's 10 games against division leaders and 13 our the 16 are against above .500 competition. All of them have better records than the Royals.

If the Royals go back into a slide as a result of this, we know they aren't ready to compete this year. If they can play near .500 ball though, this team might have a legitimate shot.

They need to fight their way back to .500, then start looking around at how many games behind they are. One goal at a time.

Good news: Royals just beat the best team in baseball

Bad news: Duffy is out the year.

Regardless we are 11-6 over last 17 games. Vin Mazzaro gets the start tomorrow :argh:

Even after going 4 innings on Sunday?

Nice win today though! To bad about Duffy. He was as close to an Ace as we had.

Vin Mazzaro pitched 1 inning last Friday. Did not pitch Sunday
