I don't see them moving Crow to the rotation unless he develops a thrid pitch that he can throw consistently.
And I understand that Hochevar is going ot be exxtended a very long leash, but I simply have no faith in his ability to achieve succes, because he appears to be soft, and melts at the first sign of trouble.

Fair enough on both counts.
Still, if we're talking about 2012, we need quality pitching more than quantity. Assuming some of those journeymen (Paulino, Chen, Francis) move on or retire or become (more) ineffective, we're going to need numbers AND quality in 2013 and beyond, but who knows what will happen in between now and then.
I'd like to see us trade for a top notch pitching prospect AND sign a #1 or #2 starter in FA. That way we improve our outlook for both 2012 and beyond. We'd have to give up someone pretty good for that though.

All of a sudden, that promising future they had at the beginning of the year does not look so promising.

I think that the Twins could be 0-88 and still beat the Royals every time they play. That is one team, no matter how good or bad they are, that the Royals will never beat.

per @#Royals and @610sports
Melky Cabrera was just traded to the Giants for LHP Sanchez and another LHP.

overall a pretty fair trade, obviously we had depth in the field and they had some extra pitchers, since they threw in that prospect I will say we got the better end of it.

I agree! Sanchez is a solid #1 on most teams, but had Lincecum and Cain in front of him.

Sadly I have no idea who these players are. Did Willie Wilson get traded?

Sanchez is definitely not a number 1. On his best day he is a serviceable 2. He fits much better at the 3 spot. Do not get your hopes up on thinking we got some kind of ace.
