Interesting. I know I collect cards, and the oldest cards I got were in the 60's and 70's, although not many big name players of course, except Ron Santo RC.

I am in the process of trying to organize my cards and get them listed online so I know how much my total cards value are. Of course, it is a painsaking process, and it will take awhile for that to be completed.

The 2 oldest cards I have are a '56 Yogi Berra, and a '56 Willie Mays. I really haven't gone thru all the cards, I've been collecting, but there should be a nice few, that could possibly be worth keeping. There are also those cards that aren't the money pits, but the players were remeberable to me.

I'm assuming the '56 are Topps? Do they have the protective cover with a graded sign on it, or it's just a card?

Yes, they are Topps, have a hard plastic covering, but as for being graded, , not really sure what you mean? I've never had them appraised or anything. I found them at a yard-sale.They are authentic.

Graded cards are the ones with in a hard plastic case with a player name, the brand of card, and there's the number on there, with a MINT or NR MINT, etc.

It sounds like your card is just a basic topps card, like you normally get them out from a package and such. Still, that's a good draw. I'm gonna try to at least get me a beckett magazine, and get mine sorted out and such, whenever I get the chance. I like to do mine online pricing, but the way Beckett has their website all fucked up, I hate it.
