Left 4 Dead on Xbox 360

The ultimate 4 player co-op game. Left 4 Dead uses the Source engine (Half-Life 2) to create a unique and fast paced zombie infested first person shooter. Each play through is different, as events are randomly chosen and directly affected by your gameplay. The better you do, the tougher the opponents you face will be and less items to help you. Also, you can never truly "clear" an area of zombies, so you actually can be too thorough. The most shocking thing to the first time player is how swarms of zombies will rush straight at you in massive waves. It defies explanation until you actually witness it.

But like I suggested, the real shining point in this game is the co-op. Whether you're doing local multiplayer with a buddy or online with a few, you very quickly discover that teamwork is a must. You wander too far ahead or lag too far behind your buddies, odds are you'll find yourself in the grip of one of many speciality zombies, like Smokers (who wrap you up in their intestines) or Hunters (who pin you to the ground). Before you know it, you'll be strategically deciding who has point on the basis of factors like what weapon they're carrying and how much health they have.

It's a very intense game, and to my surprise, ladies love it. Seriously. I've seen two girls who never even play games become engrossed in it, amongst others. Pretty hot really. :checkit:

Nothing as of yet but I bought a PS3 along with Guitar Hero for the family for Christmas, along with Madden 09 and Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare for me. It will hook right up to my 52" TV and surround sound system. It should be pretty cool...I hope.

Sweet. I like my setup too. 46" Sony Bravia LCD, though I wish I had a better surround sound system. It's a relatively low-end Pioneer, only cost something like $300 on sale, but I'll probably replace that with something where the speakers cost that much each over the next year or two (tax return + stimulus check = surround sound?). I'm not rich by any means, just an A/V nerd.

I'm probably going to buy a PS3 in the next couple months, mostly as a Blu Ray player. Hell, I've already got 3 Blu Ray movies, but no Blu Ray player. I'd also love to try Little Big Planet, which looks just amazing. I'm still battling over whether to get that or a Wii first for the new Animal Crossing game... yeah, that's a kid's game, but shut up... it's fun. Tongue

Really... the only thing I ever heard about the game was that they hold your hand all the way through it, so even the biggest simpleton can play it. I guess that theory is proven beyond a fault now. :whistling:

Anyways...

STREET FIGHTER ALPHA on PSP

Now that they got the Playstation Store up and running for PSP (maybe it has been for a while, I never noticed it though), I downloaded my first game on a couple weeks ago. I've always been a huge Street Fighter fan and the Alpha games are my favorites, even more so than the Marvel vs. Capcom games even.

I think it's pretty sweet that I can download this game in all of its classic goodness, enjoy it now on my PSP, and be able to later download it to my PS3 whenever I get one.

Part of me wonders why I bought it, since I already had Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX for my PSP, but I don't even have to change disks, so that's pretty cool.

Need info on some XBox 360 games. Halo 3? Call of Duty, World at War (should I go with CoD 3 or 4 instead?), and my 10 year old wants Star Wars Unleashed. Anyone know if that would be better in the Wii format or 360? We have both.

Don't know personally about the Force Unleashed on the Wii, but it's pretty fun on 360. IGN rated the game higher on the Wii, but that might be in comparison to other Wii games (because the Wii just really doesn't have the library 360 has). The 360/PS3 version is pretty much a blatant tech demo with kinda iffy game play. Supposedly the Wii version is more fun, but not as well finished and with more bugs. Take your pick.

If you like online multiplayer, I'd recommend CoD4 (not World at War) over Halo 3, easily. If you want a good single player first person shooter, I recommend the Orange Box. If you want a solid single player experience and time waster, I'd recommend Fallout 3 (post-apocalyptic RPG), Mass Effect (space exploration RPG), and/or Oblivion (medieval setting RPG). If you want to know some good 360 Arcade games you can download, I recommend Geometry Wars 2 and N+.

If you got any other questions, feel free to ask.

Other than Madden 09 has an obvious choice the Gears of War games are a great muti player game. Im also currious about the Shawn White Snow boarding game.
