Only reason he's being cut is because Dorsey overpaid him. Classic.

I'd say we shouldn't go seeking trash off of the Browns, but he'd clearly be better than the little over 100 yards we got out of Yelder and Bell combined. I think we'd be better served spending a draft pick on a young TE though.

I agree. I don't know why so many Chiefs fans glom onto ex-Chiefs hitting the market.  We're not desperate any more, people.  We don't need Dropmetrius Harris back. I'd rather take our chances in the draft or some other FA to compete with Bell and Yelder.

Well here's my thinking on harris.
One, bell is a free agent who might attract more attention than Harris who's gone through 2 teams in 2 years.
Two, Harris was uber special teams guy.
Three, he might like to come back and play with his buddies again at a discount 1 year deal to rehab his value.
Four, we only have so many draft picks and there are plenty of needs so I dont see us spending higher than a 5th on a te and we don't have anything lower than a 5th this year. Between OL, LB, CB, WR I think we have bigger draft needs than a 2nd te who likely isnt going to see more than a handful of offensive snaps a game.

It's not just 2nd TE though, it's a potential future replacement for Kelce since he's turning 30. I agree those are bigger needs though, but you can find decent UDFA TEs. Harris is an example of one.

I wouldn't be outright against it like many fans for many of the reasons you listed, but Harris creates a bit of a logjam at the position. We also likely are moving on from Anthony Sherman and could use the extra roster spots for FB and TE prospects.

Welp, Harris is a Bear now, so crisis averted.

Broncos trade a 4th round pick for Jaguar's CB A.J. Bouye

https://broncoswire.usatoday.com/2020/03...r-broncos/

This was for the 4th round pick the Broncos got from the Niners for WR Emmanuel Sanders.

Basically this is a salary dump move by the Jags, Bouye is scheduled to make $31M over the next 2 seasons, $27M of which the Broncos will pick up. He hasn't played up to his contract lately, but he'll turn 29 this year and is a former pro bowler.

This pretty well guarantees the Donks are moving on from 31 year old free agent CB Chris Harris. Many Chiefs fans want him, former Jayhawk from Oklahoma IIRC, but unless he's chasing a ring to try to cement himself as maybe a HOF type player and is willing to take a paycut this seems unlikely.

EDIT: Speaking of Chris Harris, Mathieu seems to be recruiting him pretty hard and Harris is reciprocating.

Chargers sign Austin Ekeler to a 4 year, $24.5M deal

https://www.boltsfromtheblue.com/2020/3/...os-angeles

With Rivers gone and Gordon gone, Ekeler is effectively the central piece of their offense, at least until we know who their QB will be.
