NFL 2020 Other Teams Offseason
#61

What exactly are the saints doing NOLA? Signing hill to a huge contract for what he does and signing James winston seems quite odd, especially for a team always up against the cap and going to have a pretty big dead cap hit for Brees whenever he decides to call it quits.

Jameis was likely told he needed to drop his INT total to get more money, so he went somewhere he could be a backup. Big Grin

But yeah, a lot of money tied up right now.

Okay so Winston is only going to make 1.1 mil this year. He made 1.3 each week last year.

I now really kinda wish we had taken him to back up mahomes.

As Robert Mays over at the Ringer put it, "The Saints are the most YOLO team ever."

They don't believe in the salary cap. Like, they straight-up ignore it. Not sure what's gonna happen Brees retires, but I'm sure even then they'll figure out a way to keep kicking the can down the road.

Cowboys ended up signing Dalton on a 1 year deal as a backup.

Also, Cowboys sign former Chief lineman Cam Erving, one year contract.

Truly, they are building a super team in Dallas.

Erving was fun to watch on the sidelines

Saints release 3x Pro Bowl Guard Larry Warford

Some are, unsurprisingly, calling for the Chiefs to take a look at him

Interested to hear NOLA's take. We could still improve the interior offensive line even after adding Niang in the draft (who might need a year for getting healthy / development) and Remmers in FA (who is probably our vet utility lineman unless he wins LG spot outright). Warford will be 29 to start the season and played RG.

The Chiefs have very little cap room but have multiple ways of making some, the one that would create the most room would be signing DT Chris Jones long term.

Well, he was a pro bowler the entire time he was here, but on the other hand he and Andrus Peat teamed up to nearly get Drew Brees killed in the playoff loss to the Vikings in January, so he might be slipping.  I can't see how the Chiefs have the cap space to sign him regardless.

Cam newton to patriots.

Also patriots docked 1.1 mil and a 3rd round pick for their taping of the Bengals sideline.
