Goodbye, HG (John Wilson) -
ChiefsChick23 - 07-06-2020
John's wife Rosie texted us today that John, who's been on a ventilator for several weeks, is being taken off of it and is not expected to survive more than a few hours later. She's asked all of us to deck out in our Chiefs gear today (7/6/20) in his memory.
I wish you peace, my friend, and I'm so glad I got to witness our Beloved Chiefs win the Super Bowl with you. One of the happiest days of my life.
As I know of funeral arrangements, I'll let y'all know.
I'm wearing Chiefs gear for the entire foreseeable future, actually. I owe John a lot.

I am already missing John. The dude was a blast and just plain all around good guy. I can't remember how many strangers accidentally waltzed up to our tailgate and before you know it they're being fed delicious tailgate and told inappropriate Raiders jokes.
I'm going to do my best to not drag my head around that first game back, but I know this is going to hurt all over again then. RIP, buddy.

Do we know what happened. Why was he in the hospital on a ventilator?

He had a non-cancerous mass in his chest. I don't know all the details, but I know it wasn't cancer or Covid.
