2020 Draft thread - DallasChief - 04-20-2020

I've never been less excited for the draft in my life.

RE: 2020 Draft thread - mabbott - 04-20-2020

My wife and I were talking about this yesterday. It feel way better to not look forward to the draft as that means we WON!!! And, we don't have huge holes to fill in offense or defense. I'm hoping to add some good depth and developmental players. We have no money to spend anyway lol

I'd agree with you, but on the other hand...

"With the first overall pick in the draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select Eric Fisher - Tackle - Central Michigan University"

We drafted Kelce that year!!

If you look at the 2013 first round class, DeAndre Hopkins at 27 is really the first person you come across that you go "whoa, we could of had him".

Literally nobody was going to trade for our first overall pick.

I know, that's why it was so underwhelming.  The one year we had the top pick and the consensus was there was no one worth taking first overall.  It sucked.

Not that it matters now.  At all.   Big Grin

I did hear a lazy rumor going around that the Chiefs are targeting a speedy first round receiver named Henry Ruggs if he drops far enough they can trade up for him.

I call this lazy because while it is clearly correct that Veach would love to add MOAR SPEED it's ignorant of our current WR situation. We've got receivers this year. We'll need them in the future, but still, we've got other needs.

Either this is a reporter being lazy or a smokescreen by Team Veach. All that being said, that would be pretty badass to add another sub 4.3 receiver.

RE: 2020 Draft thread - DallasChief - 04-20-2020

It was Mike Florio who was floating that out there so it was definitely a reporter being lazy.

True. Could still be both.

In hilarious semi-draft related news the Niners are floating trade offers for Dee Ford.

I wouldn't take Ford at the already inflated price tag, yet alone have to trade something of value to get him. I doubt there's a real market for him outside of a steal as a cost saving measure.

I was worried about losing Dorsey, and it turns out Veach was the genius all along, while Dorsey just looks like a buffoon ever since getting to Cleveland.

On one hand: SPORTS!

on the other hand: A draft day that we might not even make a pick in PLUS a bunch of people talking at the same time! And they wont know to quit talking because they are all in remote locations and cant hear each other!
