Let me verify I'm not in Wichita that weekend with Kidlet (I may be back by then).  But it's on.  Cool

Have you been to Wichita?

What do you think of doo-dah?

I have, but I can't say I know it, so I don't have much of an opinion. I'll be learning a lot more as the plan is for Older Chicklet to be at Wichita State for the next four to six years, learning how to boss engineers into putting us on Mars.

I'm just curious what an outsider view is.  I was born and raised here and everywhere I visit seems better.

I'm just too much of a coward to cut my roots and get out.

Based on first impressions, there are FAR WORSE places than Wichita.

Hell, Topeka, if we're gonna stick to Kansas.  Topeka is awful.

Other places that didn't impress me:

Tulsa, OK
Jackson, MS
Amarillo, TX

I dunno if I'd choose Wichita to live in, when I could live in Kansas City.  But hey, I could change my mind.

I've never been to Wichita or any of those other places except for Tulsa. Man, Tulsa just plain SUCKS! The entire area is ugly, there's nothing worthwhile to do unless you like second rate casinos, Oklahoma BBQ sucks, everything.

I've been there once for a convention and once for a concert, it left a poor impression on me both times.

I've been told my initial impression of Tulsa is wrong, but I don't think so.

I think you nailed it.

OKC is a far, far better city. So is Springfield, MO, for that matter.

To be fair it's not like I've spent a ton of time in Tulsa and that's been 5 years ago now. OKC seemed OK, what little I saw of it. Springfield depends upon the neighborhood.

There are some really bad parts of Springfield where drugs (mostly meth) and theft are a serious problem, such as a buddy of mine got broke into twice. He moved to a much nicer subdivision since then. Also, they had a major homeless problem in their parks, but they have been taking steps for real improvement recently. You're a relatively short drive to the lakes or Branson. Not too bad so long as you live in a decent part of town.

I had a little time to watch some Chiefs highlights, esp the game vs. the Donks last year where Pat smoked 'em.

Mann... that offense should be PROLIFIC.

Edit to add:

Kareem Hunt is RIDICULOUS.

Rewatched the Chiefs/Denver game with Pat starting.

Man oh man...

You edited this and you're still 100% cool with everything as it's written?

Yeah.  Dude make Albert Wilson look like a world beater and made about 3 throws that nobody in the NFL (except maybe Rogers and Stafford) can make.

Been reading a lot of hype coming out of Miami about how Albert Wilson is about to have a breakout season.  High comedy.  Would recommend.

Yes.  I stand by my words.  STAND.  BY.  THEM.

re: Wilson, I thought he did step up and played way above his pay grade last year when he was healthy.  But now, with Watkins and a (theoretically) healthy Conley... good luck in Miami, dude.  You're gonna need it.
