Forget about what you think of Cowherd, watch the footage in this clip  About 4:30

I don't know if that's 90 yards, but he threw it without even breaking his mechanics.

Is this shit real?  Does this guy REALLY play for the Chiefs?

RE: OFFICIAL PATRICK MAHOMES Thread - NOLA - 10-03-2018

Since he follows up with a segment about Goff and Mahomes, this is good time to remind people that Goff and Mahomes aren't on the same planet. In addition to Goff not having the physical tools to improvise the way Mahomes does, he also doesn't have the brains. This is a man who admitted--in front of Hard Knocks cameras and his new position coach--that he didn't know if the sun rose in the east or west.

Mahomes was an All-Academic.

These two guys are not the same.

Also, Colin Cowherd still sucks.

Yeah, I"m not a fan of cowturd.

Geezus, can you imagine how many times he's heard that in his life?

Yeah, but you undersold Mahomes a bit.

He was part of the all academic teams, sure.  That's something more than one person gets.

He was also named individually as THE top academic athlete in the big 12.    Big Grin

There is SO MUCH to know about this dude.  It's unreal.

Thanks you, Football Jesus.  Thank you.

Mahomes is generational.  Goff is not.  It's unlikely anyone will have the collection of traits and experiences as Mahomes.

1.  Raised around pro athletes and was routinely part of the clubhouse.  He understands locker rooms, professional sports, media, and how to interact with fans.

2.  He's really smart, and on top of that very thoughtful.  People from his past use the term 'photographic memory' a lot.

3.  He can throw the ball unlike anyone I've ever seen.  Distance, velocity, touch, long, short, middle, sideline, running left, running right, running forward, off his back foot... it's INSANE.   Sometimes I think if he spiked the ball he might cause the earth to explode.

4.  His agility scores at the combine were at the level you'd expect from a DB.  He's explosive and can change directions on a dime in spite of his less than incredible top speed.

5.  He has this great approach of humility in preparation and confidence on the field.  He plays like a guy who knows how good he is, but he doesn't talk like one.  That's endearing to fans.  We like people we put on pedestals to be humble.  It makes us feel less like failures.  This is one reason people are going to love to hate Baker Mayfield.

He's essentially the perfect QB outside of 2 things.  He doesn't have  Ben's size or Vick's speed.

Which I can accept.  He's big enough, and too much speed would only tempt him to scramble more and that... would be a waste of what is probably the best arm I've ever seen.  Instead he's like Fran Tarkenton or Rich Gannon... always running to throw, except he can throw it over a mountain.
