Mizzou stays impressive at home.. They beat Iowa State on Saturday by 31 and now move to 2-1 in conference play

Mizzou and Texas Tech tip off is under way... Mizzou is back in Columbia where they haven't lost forever.... lets see what they can do today against the 11-7 (1-2) Red Raiders

Mizzou is 16-3 (3-1) this season

Well, they won, but I'm not going to get overly impressed. The Illinois and especially the Nebraska loss has left me unsure about these guys.

They should have won by a bigger margin today but they won... I think a lot of this inconsistent play is the freshman. I do have a feeling Mizzou will be a force int he Big 12 this year. This could be the year Mizzou finally gets to put the dancing shoes back on

Losing to K-State isn't looking as bad now since they beat Texas. Should be a legit fight against them (amongst others) for Big XII Tournament seeding, but Mizzou still has a couple game lead on them. Beating Baylor was huge for Mizzou though. Not so much because it was an impressive win or anything (it really wasn't), but because it gives them a few games up on them and the tie-breaker. Being #3 in Big XII standings is a pretty nice spot really, and if Texas continues to trip up, Mizzou could become a real factor in conference. I don't think the South is as good as everybody thought they were at the beginning of the season and the North is looking better. Kansas and Oklahoma might be the obvious best two teams at the moment, but a team like Mizzou sure could steal one from them.

All I care about though is Mizzou making it to March Madness again, damnit! This year is their chance, and they better not screw it up!

I'm all for them making March Madness too, but they better AT LEAST split with KU. They have a very good chance this season to do it

If they manage that, it'll make their season. That's a huge game for both teams, and just one week away baby!

I have swore off watching Mizzou basketball because of the Nebraska game, but I might watch a little of the KU game next week. Maybe a little of the second half. I really think we will beat them at home and lose there. In fact I don't think Mizzou will lose at home this year.

That was huge. I actually watched the last 9 minutes of the game after I had swore off watching any Mizzou basketball again. Very entertaining.

Their terrible free throw shooting down the stretch and lack of rebounding ability make me go nuts watching them.

Still Carroll is a freak, and Mizzou will need him in March

Last year, Mizzou would have wilted in the latter part of the second half. I really loved their effort defensively. They really fought for this win.

I think it's largely because of their greatly improved depth. Last year, their veteran players would have been exhausted by that point and their younger players would have got destroyed. Now, they're able to spread the ball around alot more, both in terms of distributing the ball (had alot of good ball movement when they had the lead late) and in terms of points (4 Tigers in double digits).

It's still tough to watch the Tigers because they'll give up easy points in transition, but they did a good job this game of just plain maintaining their chances. They didn't run away with this one, but they never let Texas really steal the momentum either. Even with all of the lead changes, that was a relatively stable game for them.

Games now over Mizzou beats KU 62-60 on the back of Zaire Taylor's jumper with 1.2 seconds remaining. HUGE win for Mizzou and people could start seeing them as an actual threat now

I think having 5 days before having to play after beating KU will help the Tigers stay focused on their game Saturday against the Cornhuskers. The opportunity to avenge an earlier road loss should be helpful too.

It's good to see them get some respect. I'm expecting them jump to either 14 or 15 in the polls, probably ahead of Marquette, Butler, and of course Kansas. Plus, either Kansas or K-State is gonna have to lose Saturday, and either way that's good for the Tigers in the conference standings.
