Hi everyone,
My name is Nathan (not that one). I have been following the forum here for about a year but I have never really had the urge to post anything, generally because my opinion was generally voiced by someone else already. So why the sudden change? Well I just got a job that has a lot of downtime. ALOT of downtime. So much downtime that I spent about 3 hours yesterday playing this.
So I figured there had to be more productive things to do, like giving my opinion about my favorite team on a board with like minded people.

A little about me: I am an actor (the starving kind, not the working kind) born and raised in southwest Missouri, graduated from MU, and moved to Chicago about a year ago to pursue acting. I live and die by the Chiefs, which has been a lot more dying in the last few years. But I am upbeat this season. I try not to drink the koolaid but the Todd Haley flavor is so delicious. So far I like Haley. Why? Well as someone put in an article I read the other day: He is the anti-Herm Edwards.

And I hated Herm. I really really hated that guy.

But those are days past ( but really really depressing days). If you guys have any questions about me I am game to answer them. If you don't, well I'll make them up then answer them myself. Like I said alot of downtime.

But I do have a question for you: Are there any other Chief fans here living in Chicago? If so I am looking for a good bar to go and watch the Chiefs games. Any suggestions?

GO CHIEFS!!!

Welcome, Chi-Town.

I have never left the airport in Chicago so I can't help you. If you're ever in Dallas I know a good place for you to watch the games. :teeth:

If I am ever there I will look you up. But I generally try to avoid Dallas. Nothing against the city I just hate driving through Texas.

Welcome Chi-town. While I have been to Chicago a few times I have no idea about where to go see a game there. You could always walk into one of the bars with a Bears game on and change the channel. :teeth:

Wouldn't acting work be easier to find in NY or LA?

I'll bet the pay is shitty though. I'm positive your benefit package is lacking. :whistling:

Benefits? Acting? I never heard of such a thing lol

But yes NY or LA is the ultimate goal, but I feel that my training at MU left......much to be desired. Chicago has a really good theatre scene and it is a good place to train. When I go to LA or NY I want to have something that makes me stand out from all the other people who move out there.

Walk into Second City and tell them you are the next Steven Colbert and demand a job.

oh, and total noob question, how do I set it up so that when someone responds to a thread I have started/posted on I receive a notification about it? I thought I had it set up, but it doesn't appear to be working.

Welcome. Can not think of anyone I know in Chicago. A city that size has to have a decent sports bar to watch just about any game you would want to in.

That is very true, but if I can find a bar with a couple other Chiefs fans in it, all the better!

Create some converts. What you do is find someone who is not that into football (I know I know thats crazy talk but they do exist) get them to go with you and they will see how much fun it is being a Chiefs fan, and then they are hooked. A friend of mines wife was not into it at all, then she went to a Chiefs game. All I can say is you better not get between her and the tv when a game is on now.
