Good read. I agree, it'd be bad for business to let players dictate whether or not they can intentionally play their way off the team.

Pete Steele died?
That's the important part.
That's the important part.
"Gomer Pyle at QB >>>>>Matt Cassel".

More important that Dwayne Bowe running his mouth, but less important than the signing of Cory Greenwood.

Great read man. I agree with your statements. The terrible thing is you have someone so gifted in one area (athleticism) and not in others (common sense). I really think that Haley and Piolli have taken the step you have discussed by going on Jim Rome's show saying basically that he had a long talk with Bowe about comments to the public. With LJ there were no discussions with the public until the decision was made. Then it was the official announcement of LJ being cut.
When reading these statements from Bowe, I immediately thought about the possibility that Bowe might not want to be in KC. I hope it's not true, but how can it be perceived any other way? Then I start to think about the connection of Bowe and Jamarcus Russel. Was this mentality excused in LSU while they played there? Did the connection of the QB and #1 receiver incubate this personality and perception of how football players are and what they can get away with? If it did, did the veterans from 2007 allow this perception of NFL life to blossom in Bowe's rookie year by acting in such a manner? No one knows but Bowe.
There is alot to take in from this whole issue but from the efforts I have seen from Haley to squash this incident, it appears Bowe will stay pat. How he is perceived by his teammates is a whole different story. Further more how he reacts to how his teammates treat him will be detrimental. But regardless of intentions or crossed words this is not at all what the Chiefs needed, considering the positive direction they seem to be headed towards. For that, I am highly disappointed in D-Bowe and he better make it up on the field, to prove himself as a Chief to his teammates and us, fans.
For now I am willing to see what Bowe is made of. Let him know that these things are inexcusable regardless what team your on and see if he is willing to fight and earn back the respect of his teammates. This could be the maturation process he needs. At least I hope so.
