Looks like we've signed TJ to a 2 year/ 5 million dollar deal...this is MUCH cheaper than most thought he would go for. Great job Scott!
YESSSSS!

Hm...Chiefs are looking to bring in Willie Parker as well huh? Interesting...
Though I find myself wondering if they are going to redo Charles' contract...since Jones and (possibly) Parker would be backing him up...and he is scheduled to only make $470,000 in 2010, the final year of the contract.

Honestly, giving him a new deal wouldn't be a bad idea.

Updating a previous report, Adam Schefter, of ESPN, reports the Kansas City Chiefs have cancelled their scheduled meeting with unrestricted free-agent RB Willie Parker (Steelers).

It takes care of an issue we can resolve later. We don't need to draft a backup to Jamaal. We needed a vet to step in and split carries so JC's career might last a little longer. Ask any G.M. or owner and I know they'll say that you need at least 2 quality RB's in this league nowadays. I'm so stoked about this signing as well. Now we can draft a position we REALLY need instead of having to worry about a RB.
Also, bringing back T-Rich would be great, but how many year's is he running on now?

I thought T-Rich was playing on borrowed time when we lost him, borrowed time that should have been in a Chiefs uniform regardless. He's played 4 seasons since then and is now 38 years old.The fact he's still been playing at a relatively high level is a testament to his amazing ability as a blocker.
I could see signing him to a limited role and helping coach Cox and Charles. I could not see bringing him in to be the primary FB. We made a mistake letting him walk previously, but I don't know that we should bring him back now. I'd be happy if we did though.

As much as I like the signing to give Charles a breather and not wear him out into a short career this is nothing long term. Jones is not apart of the big picture.
Signature made by Bone.

The Chiefs should sign Julius Peppers, Antonio Pierce, Joey Porter, L.T., Darren Sproles, Antrel Rolle, Oshiomogho Atogwe, and Thomas Jones. SUPER BOWL!!!

I agree. Jones, DJ and Chambers, then get Lilja, I'd be happy with the Chiefs free agency. Then bring on the draft.
