Sure, we can talk about Lance Long. He has two receptions for 12 yards and a minor concussion.

This concludes our discussion of Lance Long.

This is exactly what I am talking about. Anyone who has read Lance Long's story would be excited about this player. He came from a program that was very deep at the wide receiver position. He's worked his tail off, and yes he got a concussion in the game against the Chargers. He made a great first down catch, and also almost made one of the plays of the game. He's a Haley player.

He sure as hell isn't a HOTC player. You guys will have him burnt at the stake before you know it. Poor kid.

I think most of us agree with your sentiment, we just wish it was somebody else - somebody the fan base can be proud of, y'know?

You're preaching to the choir here, but sometimes sh*t just happens. I felt the same way with Bonds breaking both McGwire and Hank Aaron's records. Like I said earier, I hope that we can one day have someone worthy break that record and forever wipe the stain of LJ from the Chiefs record.

BTW, am I the only one that wonders why folks from other boards come over here and badmouth people? Don't they have their own "elite" sandbox to play in?? Sorry if I've again crossed the line.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong. And I'm sure some of you will tell me I am. But I'm not. Peace out, y'all!!

Yeah, but in this case - something can actually be done about it.

Although one wonders, if LJ continues to play - will he actually break the record, given his YPC is so bad? :jester:

I am not entirely convinced that the NFL is done with LJ over his last little outburst. After the game settlement I have a thought that maybe Pioli knows something we do not.

Mmm, maybe.

Given that his offense is really very minor, compared to other things (even if he was on a "one strike and you're out" policy) that other players have done and remained in the game...

I agree. Given the situation by itself, it doesn't warrant the outrage given. I would hate to see it come to the point that a player can't vent his frustrations. However, this is just another in a long series of bad deeds by LJ. I really don't believe we'll ever see LJ in any meaningful role again. If I was Cassel, I wouldn't want to count on LJ as a blocker for me. Not that I would have before, but especially now.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong. And I'm sure some of you will tell me I am. But I'm not. Peace out, y'all!!

With the lousy o line LJ might not even break the record. It wouldn't be an issue if LJ had been a respectable person shut his mouth and stayed out of trouble. LJ could've run his way into the hearts & memories of Chiefs fans all over, instead he turned out to be a jerk.

Great Article NK!! Very well written.

It pretty much echoes the sentiment of many Chiefs fans. Nobody but the raiders wants to be remembered for having asshole players and nobody wants to be like the raiders.

Agreed. It's a foul tip at best. It just served to drive home the point that no matter how many times LJ says he's reformed at the beginning of the season, he never really is.

I didn't see Lance Long play, so I have to ask the question:

Is he anything like Wes Welker at all in play-style?

I joke with my friends that when comparing athletes, you always have to match them by ethnicity. For example, Byron Leftwich is the next Randall Cunningham.

I catch play-by-play guys and other media-types doing it all the time, nobody ever says anything.

Sorry to get sidetracked, it was an excellent article NK.

Bowe has 5 drops.

Surprisingly, that's one less than Bobby Wade, who's dropped 6.

What's unacceptable is that Wade has been thrown to 37 times, and bowe only 43.

If you go back and watch all of the film from the games, the first time Bobby Wade was brought in, Cassel zoned on him alot during that game. When Lance Long was brought in, Cassel zoned on him as well.

It's obvious, whenever there's a new receiver on the field, Cassel will zone on that receiver.

While Bowe has 5 drops, the fact is that 2 or 3 of those drops were critical to a drive(s) that the Chiefs could had won one more game.

One way or another, I strongly feel that Bowe is a great option as a #2 receiver. The Chiefs just need to find their own version of Fitzgerald.
