Were it true that Charles is an outside runner, I would agree with you. My initial gripe on Charles after drafting him was that I assumed he would be just that. He’s not. He gains a lot of yards on A gap and B gap plays.

Agree with the comment from Chiefs Command. 1st downs per carry can be misleading if you rip off a 10 yard run followed by 3 no gainers from trying to break it outside when you can get 3 hard yards inside. Better to look at yards per carry.
Also, how about durability? If Charles mixes it up with the big boys too many carries in a row, I see him wearing down by the games end. Better to have Jones soften up the defense and then let Charles break off a long one on a tired D. That is a 1-2 punch.

Something to be fair about, and you can check our twitter feed for the exact post and time (@ChiefsCommand), but with equal carries in the Cleveland Browns game (at 11, I believe), Jones actually had a higher yards per carry.

I wasn’t until the Chiefs went into “run out the clock” mode, and complete ball control strategy, and Cleveland stacked the box, that the YPC disparity became evident.

To be quite honest, I’m not sure where all the shock comes from the fans… When Weis ran the New England offense, they were a rushing team that preferred big veteran running backs who could run up the middle over young outside runners…

Not to mention, Jones was the 3rd leading rusher in the NFL in 2009… Who should be upset with that guy toting the rock…. Really?

Fans not showing up for 3 years is a reason why Herm and Carl aren’t here. They were showing up until Herm mocked them for being upset at his teams being terrible.

Green Bay is a public entity. The city owns the team, and vote on a number of issues involving it. For the other 31 teams in the NFL, the only way to send the message that needed sent was with dollar signs.

Don’t blame the fans because we put a product on the field that was terrible and then told them to ‘shut up’ when they got upset about it. I’ve never seen a coach do that, and the team got what it deserved. You never, EVER mock your fanbase for being upset about a bad team.
